Rahul Malhotra (Aamir Khan) abandons his studies to manage the family
business and to become the guardian of his sister's three orphaned, mischievous
brats. The factory is in debt to Bijlani (Dalip Tahil), whose daughter Maya (Navneet
Nishan) loves Rahul. Rahul hires a governess, Vaidehi (Juhi Chawla). She’s a
runaway from her orthodox father's house as he wants her to marry a man of his
choice. Rahul falls in love with Vaidehi and a jealous Maya does her best to
destroy Rahul’s life and business.
